"It's a Wrap"
We celebrated our 7th Annual Geode Fest this year, 2011, in Hamilton, IL and it was another great event. This was our largest crowd yet, with nearly 700 participants. Hundreds of 5-gallon bucket of geodes were collected from the Tri-State area. The states of Illinois and Missouri are now a few tons lighter after all the geodes that were collected found new homes across the country. The geodes ranged in size from BB size up to 450+ POUNDS. There were 6 over 200 pounds, I have never seen so many geodes this large collected at one time, or at one event. Thank you to the Fox River. The geode hunters came in from across the country. Pictures express a thousand words so I'll be posting pictures from Geode Fest '11 as they arrive. If you have some digital pictures you'd like to add, please send them to EMAIL and I'll add them to this page for all to enjoy.
