Enjoy the excitement of collecting, cleaning, and opening your own Keokuk geodes with a guided geode trip. This outdoor activity is educational and fun for all ages. You reap the rewards of your hard work.

"Location Rating Scale"
Strenuous = long walks on rough terrain or in waste deep water. Must be able to lift up to 200 pounds and carry buckets up to 60 pounds.
Difficult = heavy digging in hard shale. Need to use mauls, sledge hammers, chisels, and pry bars.
Moderate = digging in firm to soft clay. Need to use spade and/or pick axe.
Easy = picking up geodes lying on the surface. Need to be able to walk on rocky terrain and lift up to 30 pounds.
GUIDED TRIP With TJ
($200.00 / person or $300.00 / family of 4-6)
- Your choice of easy to moderate : moderate to difficult or strenuous collecting site
- You are led to the collecting area
- You are shown where to find the geodes and how to get them out
- I help you get started and provide any assistance you may need
- You will be provided with all the tools needed to collect
- You bring your own buckets, sunscreen, safety glasses, water, and a lunch
- You get one 5 gallon bucket full of "Top Quality" geodes per group (citrine geodes, quartz w/pyrite, quartz w/dolomite, chalcedony, possible barite secondaries, multiple secondaries, drusy quartz, smokey quartz, quartz w/calcite, white banded quartz, large geodes over 50 pounds, possible diamond dewdrops)
*Additional buckets are $50.00 each
**Collecting season goes from late March to early December, or as weather permits**
