GEODE COLLECTING TOOL LIST
Moderate to difficult collecting site (EXAMPLE: St. Francisville)
-Tools: paleopick or pick axe, small dirt shovel, rock hammer, 3-5 pound maul, chisels (rock not wood), gloves w/grip, safety glasses, prybar (geodes from here can be well over 200 pounds)
-You will need buckets, sunscreen, safety glasses, water, a lunch/snack, patience and like to dig
-Optional items: ibuprofen, bug spray, sunscreen, knee pads, carpet square
Easy to moderate collecting site (EXAMPLE: Jacobs, Stevenson's, most creek locations)
-Tools: paleopick or pick axe, spade, rock hammer
-You will need buckets, sunscreen, safety glasses, water, and a lunch
-Optional items: ibuprofen, bug spray, sunscreen, knee pads, carpet square
Easy collecting site (EXAMPLE: Fox River and water locations)
-Tools: paleopick, rock hammer, screw driver
-You will need buckets and clothes that can get wet (guides will help carry buckets/large geodes)
-Optional items: ibuprofen, bug spray, sunscreen
